IDENTITY AND THE FUTURE OF UKRAINE

On July 13, the second session of the Conservative Dialogues will take place in Rivne, where all aspects of Ukrainian identity will be discussed.

Today, Ukrainian society is facing a severe problem of identity crisis.

It is increasingly vague and uncertain - many people do not know what to do because they do not know who they are.

This means that it will be more and more difficult for us to answer the question of who we will be tomorrow.

If we are not going to keep our identity at all and do not understand why we need to do so, then we will have to leave the decision of our fate to others. And then the question "who are we?" will disappear by itself. Because we will no longer exist.

This is what the war is about today.

The main thing to understand is that identity should not be seen as a kind of essence that never changes.

Every generation has to maintain its heritage, but it also has to update that heritage. This is a form of collective history that is constantly transforming, but always remains true to itself.

In other words, our identity is something that allows us to change while remaining ourselves.

Today, the enemy of our identity (both at the frontline and at the rear) is the one who seeks to suppress our collective identity, national culture and all the diversity of our life forms.

We remind you.

The Conservative Dialogues are meetings of Ukrainian activists representing civil society, politics, culture, church, education, science, business and the media.

The purpose of the meetings is to help Ukrainian conservatives better understand the current challenges in contemporary social and political life.

The Conservative Dialogues are non-partisan and provide a unique opportunity to establish business relationships and cooperation across the conservative spectrum.

Objectives:

- to create a common space for meetings and search for unity with Ukrainian and foreign conservative activists;

- a clear outline of the modern Ukrainian conservative value platform, followed by its theoretical development and practical application.

Meeting topics:

- Identity as a phenomenon;

- Conservative concept of identity;

- Threats of identity destruction and substitution;

- Protection of Ukrainian identity.
