On June 8, 2024, Lviv (Ukraine) hosted the Conservative Dialogues, a regular meeting of Ukrainian civil society, political, cultural, religious, educational, scientific, business, and media activists to discuss the modern Ukrainian conservative value platform, as well as its further theoretical development and practical application.

The event was organized by the Ukrainian conservative theoretical media platform ResPublica.

The event was moderated by Volodymyr Lupatsiy, PhD in Sociology, co-founder of the National Platform for Resilience and Cohesion.

Svitlana Bohatyrchuk-Kryvko, member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, President of the political group of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), presented an alternative vision of the future of Europe from the perspective of European conservative parties and spoke about the elections to the European Parliament.

Serhii Chaplyhin (co-founder of the ResPublica media platform) outlined the main principles that define Ukrainian conservatism at the present stage and read out the main points of the Charter of Values as a tool to combat the manipulation of the public consciousness in order to subordinate Ukraine to the interests and priorities of global leftist-neoliberal elites.

Mykhailo Bil (co-founder of the ResPublica media platform) spoke about geopolitical shifts in the world, in particular the end of neoliberal globalization, which cause its deep political, economic and technological fragmentation and Ukraine's place in these processes.

Myroslav Dnistrianskyi, Professor of the Department of the Ukrainian Geography at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, raised the issue of geopolitical challenges and the formation of the Ukrainian geopolitical school.

Oleksandr Dekhtyarchuk, MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VIII convocation), emphasized the urgency of formulating clear positions on local self-government and the land issue as a demonstration of the relevance of conservatism for Ukrainian society and its future.

Other speakers included representatives of culture, religion, education, and deputies from different regions of Ukraine, who discussed the fundamental values of Ukrainian conservatism and its role in preserving, ensuring, and passing on the classical tradition to future generations.

The next Conservative Dialogues will be held on July 13 in Rivne (Ukraine).
